ICB Mission Statement

The purpose of the Illinois Council of the Blind is to promote the general welfare of citizens in Illinois who are blind.
Our goal is to improve the quality of life for all blind and visually impaired citizens in Illinois.
Our objectives include protecting the rights and privileges of visually impaired Illinois citizens by monitoring legislation, agencies, and organizations that provide services for them.
We also provide mutual encouragement and support through social interaction.

ATTN: DUE TO THE current Coronavirus crisis, the 2020 ICB Conference and Convention has been postponed from its original date of May 1-3, 2020 to April 30-May 2, 2021 at the Best Western Premier hotel in Alton, IL. Additionally, to complete necessary ICB business which we had planned on for this year's convention, there will be an ICB Business Meeting on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the Schaumburg Marriott Hotel, Schaumburg, Illinois from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. just prior to our Dinner Dance fundraiser. Please watch this website for further information on both of these events.
